AEDP work is more of a trait than a state. That is, it's much more than just putting on a face or acting the way you think you should or ought to. It is a way of being real- your most authentic self, and having a validating, empathic, and emotionally engaged experience in an often superficial world. Your experiences within AEDP are a source of connection and are shared equally, followed and honored moment-to-moment within the relationship. No one is left to feel alone, and the development of trust and security is essential to AEDP work, as it is in any worthwhile relationship. This relationship, developed with professional purpose and direction, undoes the need to defend oneself against feeling emotions- defenses which inhibit feeling alive, connected, and loveable. AEDP helps us feel at home within ourselves, free to live our lives and experiences to appreciate the full richness of what life may bring our way. AEDP is our primary method of working to restoring happiness to those who seek therapy with us. Please let us know if you would like to discuss AEDP further.
