Bob
Jaskiewicz, L.C.S.W. I extend a warm welcome to you. I am the owner and director of Montclair Health Associates, a full-service association of health practitioners utilizing current gold standards in behavioral, nutritional, and mental health care interventions. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Rutgers University where I received the designation Henry Rutgers Scholar, given for academic excellence and student leadership. I held the position of teaching assistant and went on to teach at Rutgers after completing graduate school at New York University with a clinical specialization. I have since trained graduate students to be therapists and taught graduate-level psychology classes, including a study of anxiety disorders in the class
While in graduate school I was particularly interested in hypnotherapy, and empirically supported treatments (supported by research). My primary mentor, Daniel Brown, PhD., has written several books on clinical hypnosis including: Hypnotherapy and Hypnoanalysis (with E. Fromm), Hypnosis and Behavioral Medicine (with E. Fromm), and Creative Mastery in Hypnosis and Hypnoanalysis, on the permissive style of hypnotherapy.
I have received clinical training and/or hold placements at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy; The International Society of Schema Therapy and the The NJ Institute for Schema Therapy; the Center for Integrative Psychotherapy where I trained intensively in advanced levels of Attachment Pathology, Peak Performance, Positive Psychology, and CCRT- Core Conflict Relational Themes.
I hold certification in Schema Therapy, the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI) training with Dr.s’ Mary Main and Erik Hesse, and is ASCH certified in Hypnosis, training with D. Cory Hammond, Ph.D, Michael Yapko, Ph.D, and others. Together with Daniel Brown, Ph.D, I have learned specialized focus on Peak Performance for academics and athletes, Meditation, Hypnosis and Scene generation protocols for repairing the psychological self in developmental stages, repairing primary insecure attachment leading to securely attached conflict resolution and everyday happiness.
Dan Brown has also been my meditation teacher, along with Tibetan Lama Kalsang Thuptun Rahob Rinpoche, Tulku, who trained directly with the Dalai Lama. Eastern training includes classic Buddhist Mahamudra Lineage [including Dzogschen (Zen)] Meditation. I have also trained in use of The Tibetan Book of the Dead and Moment of Death nonsectarian teachings. My long-term vision is to integrate Eastern mindfulness and meditative techniques and developmentally-informed Western psychotherapy providing clients with a model to know his/her own mind and reasonably know the mind of significant others, regulating and resolving both relationship and emotional difficulties.
I am devoted to intensive ongoing training and stay involved in the latest scientific developments in empirically supported assessment and treatment. My lifelong goal is to continue bringing the highest standard of practice in these findings into informed care and treatment, utilizing practical, state-of-the-art, highly effective clinical methods with my clients.
I work with people on many issues including repairing and enhancing relationships, attachment problems, depression, trauma, anxiety, panic, phobias, positive psychology including Peak Performance, East-West methods of mental health, including Mindfulness and Meditation, and mind-body health issues such as diet, exercise, and sleep disorders and improving sleep patterns.
